Opening Ceremonies (w/performance by Trifecta)
You’re new to anime conventions or you want to start your convention off right, then this is where you want to be. We’ll be introducing our guests and staff, giving some tips about how to stay healthy during the con, and hitting some of the highlights of the programming schedule.  As an added bonus, you’ll get to hear a performance by Trifecta – hard to start a weekend better than that.

Concert: Clockwork Dolls
The Clockwork Dolls began in 2007 with a simple concept: To create music that serves not only as a source for recreation, but as a means of narration; like a storyteller in days of old. The band's strength rests in their unique combination of skills. Their music combines Allison Curval's knack for the fusing of traditional classical music with the epic sounds of contemporary musical scores and modern electronica with Helene De Fer's passion for poetic lyrics and vocal stylings. The music of this motley crew involves an elaborate world that is simultaneously familiar and strange. The Clockwork Dolls functions not only as a band, but as a group of writers and actors relaying the epic tales of heroism, tragedy, triumph, and adventure in a world filled with flights of fancy, airships, and the technology of both past and future. It is a story of heroes and villains, and of lovers and adventurers. In short, it is the story of people who fly.

Closing Ceremonies w/Doug Manring
The beads have all been thrown; the king cake has been devoured; and all good things must come to an end. Yes, we’d all love Katsucon to be a 365-day-a-year event, but we all have to go back to our homes, our jobs, and our blogs to post about how Katsucon was this year. But before you go, swing on by Closing Ceremonies to help us send off Katsucon 17 right, and maybe you’ll even get a glimpse of things to come for Katsucon 18.
